In January 2027, the UK Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) will be switched off.
If your organisation uses any of it's supported products, including basic telephone lines, multi-lines, ISDN2, ISDN30, ADSL broadband and Fibre to the Cabinet (FttC) broadband, you'll need to think about your next steps.

The Great British Switch Off and Your Business

The switch off will likely affect alarm line companies, payment terminals, traffic light systems, payphone lines, emergency pendants, dialysis machines, telemetry devices and any other special service.

We are in the latter half of the plan to transition from PSTN based products to a new range of products. The replacement products include Fibre to the Premise (FttP), Single Order Generic Ethernet Access (SOGEA) and Cloud Telephony.

2027 is fast approaching, and whilst it may seem that you still have some time, your business and your existing services may be affected earlier. It’s crucial to have a plan in place especially if you have multiple locations or are greatly reliant on your phone or broadband lines.
