Openreach has begun replacing the old copper-line UK telephone network known as the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN). The project is due to be completed by January 2027, meaning that conventional PSTN phone lines and ISDN will switch off to make way for a network supporting new technology.
The Great British Switch Off is not a distant event. It's a reality that will hit anyone still using PSTN or ISDN lines after January 2027, resulting in a complete loss of service.
The time to act is now!
