Chess is 8th in the Top 100 UK Best Companies to Work For 2022

We're incredibly proud to announce Chess has been ranked 8th in the 100 Best Companies to Work For.

We've been in the top 100 for 13 years and top 15 for the last 7 years, having placed #1 in 2018 and in the top 3 for four years. This year we also received the highest accolade 'world-class to work for' 3-star accreditation rating and placed #5 in the Technology sector awards.

On the day of the awards, Stephen Dracup, COO at Chess, was a panellist on The New Wellbeing session. He was interviewed about our award-winning culture and how Chess looks after the wellbeing of our people.

Some of the highlights from the session include:

• Hybrid Work – we look at the individual circumstances of every person and adapt to their needs. Learn more about how we launch and make hybrid successful here.
• Flexible Hours – we understand our people have commitments outside of work as well, so we encourage flexible working while maintaining the balance of the needs of our people and the needs of our customers.
• Morale and Wellbeing – we use technology to support people to share how they feel and talk to them as part of 1-2-1s every month to support them. We do not encourage overtime as this is a sign that we're under-resourced and we keep track of holidays to ensure our people are taking time off work.
• Our Culture – leadership plays a crucial role in building and maintaining our culture, but we share the responsibility for this with all of our people. We've incorporated charitable giving, praise and we have Culture Ambassadors who are the voice of our people and ensure that we are doing the right thing.
