Keeping #FutureFit with Chess Wellbeing Week

‘Wellbeing Week’ is a firm fixture in the Chess Calendar, and right now it is more important than ever.
This week, thinking about our physical and mental wellbeing is at the top of the ‘to do list’, for individuals, teams, and the company as a whole.
To get us in the mood, 25th January was renamed ‘Bright Monday’. With prizes for the best individual and team picture, our Microsoft Teams channel was soon an eye-popping sea of dayglo and neon, glitter and sequins.
Throughout the week, online lunchtime sessions are helping with practical, actionable advice and tips, including Wellbeing workshops led by Ripple & Co’s Eileen Donnelly, Pilates and workouts from Katsi Fitness and award-winning Happiness Training from Chess Chairman, David Pollock.
As a company, we really appreciate the support we get from each other, and we share praise via our Engage app. This week, we’ll be making extra sure to give those shout outs to our colleagues, and every praise that’s posted with the hashtag #Wellbeing Chess will earn a £1 donation to MIND or Cheshire Community Foundation.
We’re also welcoming back the ‘Step Challenge’. If previous events are anything to go to by, this is going to be hotly contested. We’ll be tracking our walking, running and cycling efforts every day for a week, with prizes both for star steppers, and most improved performance since our last Step event in October. We’ll be giving our brains a workout too, with a knockout quiz testing our knowledge of Wellbeing, Fitness, Food, and more.
We’re more aware than ever of the needs of others in our community, and we’re taking the opportunity during Wellbeing Week to relaunch our Charitable Payroll Giving. Charities big and small depend on the regular income that Payroll Giving provides especially during these difficult times, as it allows them to plan their work including research, building projects, and giving practical help to those who are vulnerable and in need.
The weather may be chilly, and lockdown restrictions challenging, but we’re more committed than ever to stay both mind fit and body fit, so that together we will stay #FutureFit for 2021
