Want to protect your Microsoft 365 data from loss or corruption?
In the near(ish) future, Microsoft will introducing a new backup solution for Microsoft 365 that will protect data held in SharePoint, OneDrive and Exchange Online.
It is being propositioned as an effective way to restore large volumes of data quickly in a business continuity scenario, such as a ransomware attack, and offers low recovery point objectives in order to minimise data loss.
In a related development, Microsoft has also introduced an archiving option for SharePoint Online.
The amount of content people store in SharePoint Online is increasing, and it is likely that your organisation could exceed its tenant quota at some point, potentially resulting in additional storage costs. The new Microsoft 365 archive feature will enable SharePoint sites to be moved to more cost-effective cold storage, while allowing you to keep your inactive sites within SharePoint.
But why are these two options relevant, how do they work, where do they fit and what are the billing models?
