Microsoft OneDrive Policy Change
Your OneDrive Data Could Be Lost Forever
From 27th January 2025, Microsoft changed its policy, with Unlicensed OneDrive accounts becoming inaccessible after 93 days.
This means that if an employee leaves, an account is unassigned, or a OneDrive license expires without a back-up in place the files could be lost permanently—even for administrators. Once the retention period ends, Microsoft will not recover your files.
