The event brought together nominated champions from the BT Business Partner Channel, giving them the opportunity to hear BT’s business updates and future plans, as well as the chance to interact with other partners. The theme of the day was ‘Our Future Together’ which followed on from the previous events which have all focussed on building stronger partnerships.
Here is Paul’s account of the day!
“The day started off with an interesting display of the latest tech from the event’s sponsor Samsung, featuring the Note 8 and Samsung DEX. Some of the event goers took part in a drawing competition on the Note 8 and some real masterpieces were created using the S-Pen!
The DEX product particularly attracted my attention. It’s a very innovative product that connects to a display/wireless keyboard and turns Samsung’s top of the range handsets, the S8 and Note 8, into a mini PC. I think it’s a great tool for flexible or field based workers to use.
The morning presentations kick started with an overview of the economy and how Brexit is creating uncertainty for businesses. Growth areas were also discussed including security, compliance/flexible working as well as the importance of connectivity for businesses. This was followed by an update from EE’s Marketing Team who have been busy working on the Gateway, which brings BT’s and EE’s systems into one portal. Essentially, they’re working on becoming easier to transact with on a day to day basis and I hope the Gateway is a huge success moving forward!
In the afternoon we were split into groups for breakout sessions. I attended the sessions on EE Corporate, EE SME and Customer Experience. The sessions consisted of recent changes to the product portfolio and roadmaps of upcoming changes, followed by Q&A sessions.
Samsung brought the day to a close with a presentation on their product portfolio and recent market share figures. They also awarded three lucky winners some prizes based on the drawing competition earlier in the day.
We were then whisked away to the London Shuffle Club for some evening networking and entertainment including drinks and Pizza! Shuffle itself is a rather obscure game similar to bowls and everyone was attempting to play this game for the first time. It involves pushing a puck with a stick attempting to land the puck in the scoring zone. I had the pleasure of meeting many people in the industry and even got to play few games against our competitors!”
When Paul isn’t managing the Chess Partner Re-sign and Hardware Sales teams, he enjoys socialising with friends and family and looking after his young daughter. He’s also a bit of an adrenaline junkie and has done his fair share of skydiving, climbing and helicopter rides.
