Name: Torie Ford

Job Title: Sales and Office Administrator

My role in the office is very varied each day and today is no different.

I arrive just in time for our morning quiz. Today I learned that the offspring of a lion and a tiger is called a liger- who knew! Every day really is a school day in this place. Also, top tip for quiz success, just holla out any answer until you get to the correct one. It’s unconventional and can be slightly irritating for others, but hey it’s a dog eat dog world out there, right?

Post conference catch-up with the team, including Chess’ plans for growth and how we raised an incredible £50,983 for charity last year! We also covered all the serious discussions, like who won the dance off (was a tough call between me and Stacey - you’re welcome) and who had the most fun (all of us) — roll on the Christmas Party!

Email catch up from the weekend with lots of messages to action and answer. I start by booking trains and flights for my Sales and Tech guys. I add a few service tickets to our CRM system and flag a few accounts queries. Oh, and send Marketing my whole camera roll from Friday night!

It’s time to tackle the pile of invoices on my desk. So, I plug myself into Spotify, turn up the volume and get my head stuck into SAGE.

Wow — lunch time already, time really does fly when I’m down an accounting rabbit hole. It’s a lovely day outside today so I change into my gym kit and go for a run.

After a very sweaty 5k, a very cold shower and a quick bite to eat, I am feeling energised for the afternoon. I refill the coffee machine, give the kitchen a quick wipe and do my lunchtime walkaround the office — everything seems to be in order today. Invoicing finally complete, I begin to process the orders that the Sales Team have brought in over the past few days. Double check that all the pricing is correct before sending them off to our suppliers.

I spend the remainder of the day sorting out databases for our SecureTour sign ups. I love Excel. My inner nerd comes out when I get to use formulas and I do a little happy jig when the spreadsheet is up to date and correct.

After another final check of my emails, I write my to-do list for tomorrow which takes me to….

Home time! Time to turn into mama for the evening and crack open a well-deserved gin. Catch you on the flip side.
